Quite simple.  BidMotors is privately owned and operated.  We do not have greedy shareholders, and as a result can offer seller fees that our competition cannot.  We strongly believe we have an obligation to provide our sellers with simple and affordable fees.  Think power to the people!  We know this may take some getting used to since many sellers have been abused for years by the other high commission online listing sites.

The advantage for a seller is that they will be able to put more profits into their pockets instead of towards high commission based seller fees.   The advantage to buyers is that item listing prices should decrease because sellers no longer have to pass on these high seller fees onto the buyers.

Image hosting is an optional service offered by BidMotors that enables sellers the ability to upload and save images used for their item listings.  In addition, when a seller elects for Image Hosting, all of the seller’s listings are also saved which can be used to create similar listings or repost the same item listing at a later date.

Image Hosting starts at $9.95 per month for 1.0 GB of disk space.  Additional disk space can be purchased for an additional $5.00 per month for each additional 500 MB of disk space purchased.

Sellers that purchase Image Hosting enjoy these benefits:

• The ability to upload up to 32 images per item listing.  Non Image Hosting customers can upload up to 8 images per listing.
   
• The ability to save and reuse previously created item listings and uploaded images

Your ended listing will be maintained in your BidMotors dashboard for 45 days.  After 45 days, your listing and images will be automatically deleted.

BidMotors bills for seller fees by calculating seller listing charges accumulated during a monthly billing period.

It is an auction listing that receives a bid any time during the last 60 seconds of the listing’s remaining time will be extended by an additional 60 seconds. This will allow for other potential bidder to place a bid on the item.  An auction listing can be extended continuously for 60 second extensions as long as the listing receives a bid in the final 60 seconds of the auction.

Example:  An auction listing receives a bid with 30 seconds remaining. Since the bid was placed with under 60 seconds remaining, the listing is extended by 60 seconds from the time in which the bid was placed.  So for this example, the auction’s time would be extended 60 seconds to 1 minute and 30 seconds remaining.  If this auction listing were to receive another bid with less than 60 seconds remaining the auction would be extended for another 60 seconds.  This process would repeat until the auction does not receive a bid in the final 60 seconds and the auction’s time expires.

An extended auction ensures that the highest bidder will win the item. Thus the seller gets the highest price for the item and all potential bidders get a fair chance to bid on an item without fear their high bid gets sniped.

The BidMotors feedback system is similar to many online listing services but with many improvements.

•    Each user maintains a separate buyer and seller Individual Rating Summary.
•    Buyers and sellers can provide a Positive, Neutral, or Negative feedback grade for each item transaction.
•    Custom grading criteria for Individual Ratings as a buyer and as a seller
•    Elimination of verbal comments in feedback

To provide a greater level of fidelity in user grading as a buyer as well as a seller.

The distinct advantage to maintaining individual buyer and seller ratings for each user is that now buyers and sellers can maintain greater control of who they sell to and who they buy from by use of the BidMotors User Filters.

The BidMotors User Filters operate on the premise of allowing users to create custom tailored filters to block or filter buyers or seller based on their feedback ratings:

•    Allow buyers the ability to filter out items from search results based on a seller’s ratings
•    Allow sellers the ability to block out bidders to bid on their item listings based on a buyer’s ratings

In our humble opinion, verbal comments provide very little benefit to a feedback system.  In fact, verbal comments do more harm than good when it accompanies negative feedback.  In a negative feedback scenario, verbal comments most always result in a war of words between a buyer and a seller and can create unnecessary long term damage to both parties.  Because BidMotors employs custom individual ratings criteria as part of the feedback system for both buyers and sellers, an accurate portrayal of a transaction can be established without the verbal commentary.
